Christie Brinkley’s Ex Goes On Attack On ‘20/20′
Most people thought that the war of words between supermodel Christie Brinkley and her ex-hubby, Peter Cook, was over after the world found out the sordid details of Cook’s affair with a 17-year-old and alleged porn addiction during their divorce trial this summer. Well, no such luck.
Cook has filmed a sit-down inteview with Barbara Walters tonight on ABC’ “20/20″, sez E! Online. Parts of the interview have already been put on ABC.com, with Cook trotting out the same lines unfaithful spouses have used for years — they just wanted more attention, dammit!
“I was seeking a connection I could not find in my own marriage,” he said. “I think the emotional aspect of our lives had changed. I think we were both feeling more like we were living with a brother and sister than a life partner. … I think I just suddenly realized when I was getting attention from someone else that this is something that is missing in my life.”
Brinkley attempted to get a temporary restraining order against Cook, alleging that since it’s his weekend with their children Jack and Sailor they would be exposed to the program’s airing. The motion was denied after Cook said he’d take the kids out of town and agreed that “the children would not be exposed to the interview.”
This issue is probably far from over, since Brinkley’s attorney also says the “20/20″ interview violates their divorce agreement. So stay tuned.
