b5media has teamed up for a 24-hour blog-a-thon to support Accion International and The Actor’s Fund.
The Great b5media Blog Off will begin on June 20th at 12:01am (in each writer’s respective time zone), to celebrate the summer solstice, which hasn’t occurred on any date other than June 21st since 1975 – this year it lands on June 20th. Writers from the b5media Business and Entertainment channels will be posting fresh news at least once per hour for a full 24 hours.

The Entertainment Survivor Challenge has come to a close. Over a period of 8 weeks, two teams of 18 blogs were narrowed down through a series of challenges until only three were standing:

Ugly Betty News by Tom Landers
Prison Break Buff by Nikki Katz
Soaps on ABC by Dexie Wharton

In the last and FINAL challenge, the three blogs competed head to head to win as the Ultimate Survivor!

After 11 challenges, we are down to the final 3 in the Entertainment Survivor Challenge.
You can read up on all the various challenges the writers have faced, and how they did, here.
The final challenge will determine who is the ultimate Entertainment Survivor.

ENTERTAINMENT SURVIVOR CHALLENGE
We are running a very exciting contest in the Entertainment channel – we are calling it the Entertainment Survivor Challenge. Each blog was divided onto a team, and over the next 8 weeks they will compete as teams (then individually) for a prize. The full rundown can be found here.
CHALLENGE #1: Valentine’s Day Theme – Bloggers were asked to put up a post inspired by Valentine’s Day, in any interpretation of that. Team #2 won the challenge, with the most comments (288 vs 142).
