As people stay in more to watch TV because they aren’t going out as much as budget crunches hit the wallet, could Americans build a new, unconnected video network that replaces shows with podcasts or digital downloads and leaving traditional cable-based companies to maybe, possibly, lower rates?
A column in TVWeek.com seems to think so. Daisy Whitley said since she can now download shows on Netflix on her XBox 360, she can now live a cable-free life.

Uber-producer Aaron Sorkin made his name by building a fictitious White House administration. Then he moved on to helming a show about fictitious television ensemble. Even though the “fiction” of “Studio 60 on the Sunset Script” was debatable, it still took liberties and made the characters do things that even the original “Saturday Night Players” would’ve shied away from.

Kim Cattrall was in Banff, Alberta this past week for the Banff World Television Festival and the 2008 Banff World Television Awards.
Kim Cattrall was awarded the NBC Universal Canada Award of Distinction at the awards ceremony on June 9th. Cattrall, a Canadian actress, has led an outstanding career in the broadcasting industry and spoke candidly about her career in her acceptance speech and in an hour-long "in conversation" session held the next day.
