Tonight On TV: Oct. 22

Hulk Hogan Celebrity Championship Wrestling

Fox: Game 1 of the World Series – If you’re a baseball fan, that’s all you need to read. Philadelphia Phillies vs. Tampa Bay Rays.

ABC: Pushing Daisies — David Arquette guest-stars as the suspect in the death of his roommate, who was an escort for a friend-for-hire agency. Also, Emerson’s PI mother pays him a visit.

Private Practice — Addison is, once again, at odds with a choice between love and her career. Also, Ernie Hudson guest-stars as a firefighter with a rare form of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dirty Sexy Money — As Nick prepared to defend Leticia in her murder trial, he’s unhappy to see the name of his estranged mother on the guest list. Also, Patrick wants to tell the truth about his wife’s death, but Nick objects. Oh, the web that we weave when we practice to deceive…

CBS: New Adventures of Old Christine – Christine asks Richard to have a baby with her after her son quits telling her that he loves her. Yeah, that sounds like great logic for spending nine months pregnant, going through labor and then taking care of the kid for 18 years. I bet Richard will agree with me, too.

Gary, Unmarried — Gary is unhappy that his ex-wife and his girlfriend have become such close friends, so he decides to “break them up.” Once again, great logic. You don’t want the two women you spend the most time with getting along. You want them fighting and bitching about each other.

Criminal Minds – Wil Wheaton guest stars! Really, that’s enough to make this a must-watch. Okay, the team looks for a serial killer who stages crime scenes as traffic accidents.

CSI:NY– The team investigates the murder of a “corporate fixer” who makes embarassing secrets disappear for a paycheck. For lots of spoilers, click here.

NBC: Knight Rider — Mike poses as a Marine and uses a beautiful assistant to stymie a plot to blow up something. Really, isn’t this the only thing he does weekly?

Lipstick Jungle — Victory plans to meet Rodrigo’s daughter, despite Dahlia’s warnings. Also, Wendy focuses on her home life, which doesn’t make Maddie happy. I think the work vs. home thing is Brooke Shields’ only plotline.

The CW: Stylista — Eleven editors compete for a job at Elle.  Their first job is making breakfast for Elle editor Anne Slowey as their own clothing is critiqued. Sounds like a dream job there.

BBC America: Brothers and Sisters in Love — If you’d like to spend your evening thoroughly creeped out, here’s a BBC documentary about a disorder that causes siblings to become sexually attracted to each other.

CMT: Hulk Hogan Celebrity Championship Wrestling – CMT is baling a lot of hay outta the “washed-up celebrities making fools of themselves” genre, and now they’ve got Hulk Hogan to boot. Danny Bonaduce, Todd Bridges and Tiffany are among the Z-listers. And hey, this could turn into a new version of “Celebrity Deathmatch”. I loved that show.

Discovery: Mythbusters — The team examines whether alcohol really makes the opposite sex look better. If they disprove that, a lot of folks are going to have no excuse for scores of one-night-stands.
