Tonight on TV: Oct. 21

Dr. House and Thirteen on “House”

ABC: Dancing With The Stars — In order to best milk this cow, they are now airing a recap of the Monday show before the Tuesday results. Dunno if there are enough people who want to see the dancers’ again before the results for this to work.

Eli Stone — In case you’ve been in a cave for the past few weeks, tonight’s the night for Katie Holmes’ appearance. You’ve probably seen the sex kitten preview. My hope is that there’s more to her appearance than that.

CBS: The Mentalist — This might be the sleeper hit of the year. Tonight, the team is looking for the suspect in the slaying of an investment banker who was bilking funds from clients. He was found dead inside his safe room. So much for the “safe” part.

Without A Trace — The team looks for the missing teenage son of a Secret Service agent.

Fox: House — Slash writers alert! A woman has a seizure at Thirteen’s apartment after a one-night stand, provoking intense interest by House about Thirteen’s personal life.  Geez, House has never, ever expressed an interest in lesbians before. Remember his thing for “The L Word”? Plus the PI continues his investigation of Wilson, which should go well.

Fringe — A missing woman with a rare disease reappear. Not only does she place the lives of everyone around her in danger, but high radiation levels raise the possibility of covert drug investigations by the government. Sound cheery. This show steals more from “The X-Files” and “Torchwood” in turns than any other sci-fi show I’ve seen. More from the ep, as well as video, here.

NBC: The Biggest Loser: Families — The usual — weight is lost, people struggle, others get nice rewards, etc., etc.

Law & Order: SVU — A famous astronaut is found dead in Battery Park, and the investigators turn to a colleague (played by James Brolin) for help.

CW: Privileged — Megan talks Laurel into using Rose and Sage (anyone else find it weird almost every character is named after foiliage?) for her latest marketing campaign, but much drama ensues in the photo shoot.

Animal Planet: Weird, True and Freaky — A look at some overgrown animals, including a huge bunny. Maybe this isn’t the show to watch with your kids before bed.

Discovery: Dirty Jobs — A visit to a cattle farm, where you get to learn exactly what Rocky Mountain Oysters are. See previous preview.

Disney: Camp Rock — Since the kids get left out of the previous shows, here’s a nice, safe alternative. We rock!
