McCain, Palin Get Attention But No Love On Shows

With “Saturday Night Live” posting its highest ratings in 14 years when vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin appeared on the show last Saturday night, other shows are also using Palin and her running-mate, presidential candidate John McCain to draw attention.

However, while the debate still rages over the political impact of Palin’s SNL cameo, and whether it will help or hurt the McCain-Palin ticket, it’s undeniable that Seth MacFarlane and Jon Stewart are far from supporting them.

On Sunday night’s episode of MacFarlane’s show, “Family Guy”, Stewie and Brian steal Nazi uniforms and then find a McCain-Palin button pinned under the lapel. A clip of the episode was pulled from YouTube late Monday afternoon.

As for Stewart, who hosts the left-leaning “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, he had a profane reaction to Palin’s remarks Thursday that she likes visiting “pro-American” parts of the country.

“She said that small towns, that’s the part of the country she really likes going to because that’s the pro-America part of the country. You know, I just want to say to her, just very quickly: [expletive] you,” Stewart said.

Stephen Colbert’s reaction to Stewart’s comments should be pretty entertaining on Tuesday’s show.
