Tonight on TV: Sept. 29

Regis Philbin and Neil Patrick Harris on “How I Met Your Mother”

ABC: Dancing With The Stars — Let’s see if Kim Kardashian has actually picked up some dancing skills during the past week. Musical taste, too. “Baby Got Back” was just painful.

Boston Legal — A close call with Denny and prescription drugs inspires Alan to go after a pharmaceutical company for some dicey advertising. Calling Don Draper!

CBS: The Big Bang Theory — Penny gets a new man, and Leonard hooks up with Leslie (Sara Gilbert) to retaliate. And we wonder how we get the ideas to screw with our crushes in real life?

How I Met Your Mother — Marshall begins a quest to find where he ate his first New York burger. Regis Philbin makes a cameo appearance (above with Neil Patrick Harris.)

Worst Week – Sam tries to charm the prospective mother-in-law Sarah to win the affections of grouchy father-in-law-to-be Dick. Alas, he manages to do something dreadful to Dick’s birds. This show is like “Meet the Parents” in spades.

CSI: Miami – Rising fuel prices create a crime wave. Oh wow, they should do a road trip to Atlanta or Nashville for this show.

FOX: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles — Cameron ends up in a halfway house with no memory of her beginnings due to a computer glitch. Well, at least she doesn’t have amnesia from a hit to the head. That’s always bad news on soap operas.

Prison Break – Mathone is arrested with the transcribing device at an LA racetrack, while Gretchen shows up at her sister’s proper suburban home.

NBC: Chuck – Chuck meets up with a new operative (Michael Clarke Duncan), and then, believing his spying days are over, he asks Sarah out on a date.

Heroes – Hiro and Ando have a run in with the Hatian while following Daphne; Claire turns to Meredith for advice; and Peter looks at the past to stop the future. And absolutely none of what I wrote makes sense to me.

Life: Ted and Crews looks for the surviving family members of a murdered girl from his past. Sounds really cheerful.

The CW: Gossip Girl — Serena and her new friend Poppy (Poppy?!?) get front-row seats at a Fashion Week show, which infuriates  Blair; Dan and Chuck hang out; and Michael Kors makes a cameo appearance.

Food Network: Unwrapped – This show is a bit of a cult find for foodies who have sweet tooths. Tonight they take a look at how “movie food” is made (c’mon, Raisinettes!) and what the new trends are. You mean beyond making everything $5 a box?
