Tonight On TV: Sept. 13

ABC: Batman Begins – If you never saw the first film where Christian Bale played Bruce Wayne and his crusading counterpart, this will show you all you need to know to finally go see “The Dark Knight”.

CBS: How I Met Your Mother - Ted (Josh Radnor) has an accident and reevaluates his relationship with Stella (Sarah Chalke). Could he finally have met his kids’ mother? See this before you find out next week.

Two and A Half Men – A CSI crew (led by George Eads) investigates a death at Charlie’s house. This episode was actually written by two “CSI” scribes, so if nothing else the “CSI” fandom can evaluate it for spoiler material.

NBC: America’s Toughest Jobs – The contestants try their hands at logging in Oregon. Unless you earn your livelihood tossing giant hay bales or lifting steel beams, this episode should make you appreciate how easy you’ve got it.

Dateline: NBC – Judy Woodruff examines the American educational system. Which should be educational.

Fox: The Sarah Conner Chronicles – The season premiere of the show that sci-fi fans should be watching other than “Fringe”. If that doesn’t entice you, how about that Garbage’s Shirley Manson’s on the show this year?

CW: Gossip Girl – Dan and Serena work out their problems while trapped on an elevator. This chestnut of a story idea appears in almost every long-running show in the history of television, and people tend to spend their time fighting to the death or having sex. Sometimes both. Will “Gossip Girl” be any different?

One Tree Hill – Someone dies. Because that never happens on “One Tree Hill”.

Bravo: Project Runway – The fourth season finale with Victoria Beckham as a guest judge. Better known as “the good old days” for some fans.

ESPN: Monday Night Football: Cowboys vs. Eagles - Can Tony Romo light up the board enough to save the weeks of fantasy football players who saw Ike’s winds blow away their chances for big scores?

BBC America – Top Gear. If you’re a car fan and aren’t watching this top-notch British show, make a point of checking out its new season.
